Site Worker

Report to site manager when you arrive and before you leave
If you are running late contact your site manager (see contact information below)
Every hour walk the grounds and clear field, sidelines and parking lot of all trash
Every hour ensure restrooms have enough toilet paper
At the end of each match collect match cards from referees post game and provide to the site manager to record the match
Support site manager of all other duties as requested
Check the weather and dress accordingly
Bring water, lunch will be provided midday (pizza)
Each site will have supply bins (e.g., gloves, garbage bags and pickers, etc.)

Site Manager

Arrive early (7:30am), set up your headquarters in a central location to the best of your ability
Manage all inquiries from coaches, parents and referees
- Schedules, rules, etc. can be found on the website www.nchu/org
Ensure games are played on time and gather/report game scores
- Make sure to keep the game cards with the score, ensure that the scores are clearly written and store them in the ziplocks provided
Ensure the site (field, stands, parking lot) is clear of trash before, during and after matches are played
Ensure the restrooms/portable toilets are clear of trash and stocked with toilet paper
Recommend having the site worker crew make hourly runs to clean the fields, portable toilets, etc. every hour
Note, NO dogs are allowed on school property and request dog owners to stay clear of the fields and stands
- All coaches and team admins were notified to tell their player parents/family/friends that no dogs are allowed
At the end of match play on Sunday confirm bracket standings and provide medals to top 1-2 teams – if the standings are clinched prior to final games played feel free to hand out so that teams can be on their way
Keep track of when your site workers arrive and leave – their pay like your is determined by the number of hours worked
If you encounter any issues with coaches, parents, referees, etc. contact the NCHU Board (see contact info below)
Familiarize yourself with the game schedule at your location and the games format (see link below) – people will ask where their teams are playing, how many points for a win/tie, how are tie-breakers handled, etc.
At the end of Saturday
- Be sure to pack up the supplies back in the bins provided and take them home with you
- Fold up the tables/tents, chairs and can be left on the field or take with you
At the end of Sunday pack everything up and bring back to Soccer Park
Weather Related:
- Monitor field condition and consult with the referee to ensure safe and playable conditions – if you are unsure contact the board
- If a game is cancelled due to weather, record the score at the time of cancellation, if the game never started record it as 0-0
- Thunder/lightning – The ref will call a 15-30 pause in the game, if there is another instance of either the clock resets – note there is no stoppage in the time of the game. All games have a running clock meaning, if there is 5min left in a game and lighting/thunder causes a stoppage the game is over. If a game begins while all play is on hold, the game clock that starts on time and if another 10min runs off until play can resume then that game is 10min into the total game time.
- Be sure that the tent is fastened using the stakes, weights, zip ties – lowering the tent can also help with the wind
- You will have bins to keep things dry use them to store supplies
